I need a piece of 3/8 or 1/2" flat aluminum plate to raise a motor. 16" X 16" or larger. Not looking for a freebie but I don’t know where to purchase. If you have a piece to sell or could suggest where I can get please let me know.
Thanks and Merry Christmas,

Is it for welding across transom on your duracraft?
I also have a 1542 Dura with a notched out transom that loses me a few inches on my mounting height, I’d like it a few more inches higher.
What is your plan if this is what you’re doing?

I am replacing the 25hp honda with a 40hp johnson. I need to raise it 3". i am going to bolt this plate on the transom and then bolt the motor to it. I had made a plate for the Honda but it is to narrow for the 40hp. I was going to use a couple pieces of channel but my steering cable is not long enough.

If you can’t find it locally, go to McMaster Carr’s web site. Search “aluminum plate”. Specify your size and order, it will be at your house within two days. (may be a little slower due to Christmas)
I put in 1/2" thick and 18"X18" 6061 aluminum and it came up to $162.00
For what it’s worth, I did a similar thing to my Polar Craft several years back. Mounted a Mercury motor with a 20" shaft on a 15" transom using a aluminum plate that I ordered from McMaster Carr. It worked like a champ.
Also several of the fab shops around town will sell you a piece out of the scrap bin. Give them a call and let them know what you are looking for. Other places to check would be field’s on cross county, or scrap yards.
