The Always Something and Crew rolled out very early Sunday. When the ChechesseeRiverPilot, MakoMate, AA, and I made it to the Deli we were beaten down. Lines in at 6:45. First cow in the box at 8:30. Next was a double turned triple thanks to some pogies we got the day before. Sadly we only landed one of those three. Next thing we new our TLD15 was screaming for help. Something peeled about half of its line in a matter of seconds, then it cut our line clean. We had a few more short strikes, and then our only Wahoo rig went off. Before we could slow it down an 82 pound Hoo had dumped half of an Okuma 50W. AA strapped in and got him all the way back to the boat. CRP and I put a double gaf job on what is now our first wahoo. We caught one more dolphin on our way out, and lost another. On a day of hits and misses, I guess we hit when it counted. You might be able to see our excitement in these pictures.
BTW: AA, the guy in the green shirt, is 6’3". Just a reference point.
Those pics turned out great! Good day on the big blue, even if she did try to beat us up and drown us on the way out! By the way, there’s no wahoo bite in Oklahoma, but we’ll try to turn it on when I get back! Catch 'em up!
i hate those wahoo you bring to the boat and just think they are mosters when you see them but when they get to the dock they look alot smaller and only weigh 40 lbs. am i the only one who experiences these problems. hahaha
OP, I think I know what you mean. We thought this one was every bit of 100 when it hit the deck, but the digital scale said it was 82. We are proud to have what we got. Hopefully only the first of many.

great job yall well i might have to meet up with yall cause i am joining you next year at the el cid so be on the look out for me out in the ocean this summer and at The Citadel next year
I wish you luck Lance. You won’t see me or the Fruit there, cuz we’re old, but if you run into AA, just know that he really is that much of an Ahole. It’s not just because he’s an upperclassman.
