These two CheyTac rounds (.375 and .408) are the reason Barrett came out with the M82A1 chambered in .416 Barrett. The 50BMG lost its supersonic speed before 2000yds while the two CheyTac rounds did not while still packing comparable energies to the 50BMG at that same distance.
Look across the books (classified and declassified) and you’ll see CheyTac’s name attached to many of the longest confirmed kills hitting the books now and the past several years. If I were in the market for a big bore long range platform, CheyTac would definitely get my money. That said, the rifle itself is only one part of the equation. Them SAS boys, CQB or long range, can flat out shoot.
