American Spitfire Pilot

American Spitfire Pilot in WWII

This is one of the best emails I’ve had the good fortune to receive.

Just watch the expression on his face as he watches himself make an emergency landing.

We owe heroes like this one more than we can ever repay.

Imagine, 18 years old, all alone, behind enemy lines, no guns, no escort…

Just calmly doing his job, and he gladly did it. They just don’t make them like that anymore…

It was truly the greatest generation…We owe them so very, very much…

Very cool! I sent it to my Uncle who is 93 and was a B-25 pilot in World War II. He got shot down and spent the rest of the war as a POW…he lives in Charleston.

Those guys were Great and didn’t even know they were! My Uncle who I’m named after, was killed bombing Berlin in a B17! Thanks for posting the film! I sent it to some guys I served with in VN!

Truly the greatest generation! My wifes great uncle was Ed Rector and was in the Flying Tigers. He got the first and last confirmed kill for the AVG.
