amsterdam

I am off to Amsterdam Sunday then to Copenhagen on friday then to Dubai;
Been to Dubai a few times but never the other 2. Any must see’s besides the obvious in Amsterdam:smiley:

Few of my old haunts there. AMS, Museums: Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Rembrandthuis and many other “art” type musels there, my favorite there is the Scheepvart (ship) museum right on the water. Flowermarket can be cool, or can go on a tour of local functioning windmills or to the N. Sea Dyke. People watching is allways a good thing there too, lot of outdoor squares with people, things, all over. Some excellent restaurants there as well representing every ethnic cuisine imaginable. Saturninos restaurant on the Reguliersdwarsstraat is one of my favorites there awesome filets and mussels there as well as a few others I’m trying to think of AMS has gotten real expensive in last 10 years or so and a lot more commercial then it used to be but still a fun place to go to for sure. Definitly a lot less tourists there this time of the year. Very easy to get around town, pretty much everything is within walking distance of Central train Station plus there are street trams running all over that are very simple to use, just be sure to get a ticket (strippenkart) and more bicycles then one could imagine!! Definitly have to watch where one is walking and stepping off a curb due to the trams and bikes.
Copenhagen is more a “local” city vs a destination/tourism city like Amsterdam and is more spread out, Lot of good restaurants and waterfront museums there as well. One pretty much has to rely on a cab to get around there.

Have fun man!
