An epic outing!

I know it’s that time of year but, man oh man, it’s always better than you remember!

We started out fishing over by the Fish and Game boat dock on Bull Island where my wife and I got on them last week. We managed some reds but only one trout. The water was a bit too stained so we made a move and found trout.
They were in a secondary creek that was about 10 to 12 foot deep. The trout were suspended in 4 to 6 foot.

We caught them on top water and Mirrolure but mostly on soft plastics with an Eye Strike jig head. Most of my fish came on a long cast and a slow enough reel to keep my line taught. Once it fell into that 4 to 6 foot depth it was usually thumped.

Artificial fishing is fantastic right now!

The video is linked at the top for those interested.

Sure looks like y’all had a pretty day to be on the water.
I’m going in the morning. Hope I put the smack down on him like y’all did.

I am fragile. Not like a flower. But like a bomb.

You will. It’s that time of year!

Kerry, I talked myself out of going onThursday mainly because I didn’t like the tide cycle we would be fishing in. Man I was wrong and got sick watching y’all pulling them in like that LOL. The last few time I was in that creek I had no success there but could not believe they were in the middle of the creek. Wow, it goes to show you can learn something new all the time. Hope to see you soon

Haha. Yeah, I was thinking about you guys.
That’s a great little creek this time of year. Also if you go past that dock and take the next creek to the left there are some pipes fifty yards up the creek on the left (you’ve probably fished them). Beyond those pipes where the creek turns back hard to the right is a deep hole. We’ve caught trout all over on that bend. Water moves pretty hard through there at mid tide and the trout will find the slower water.
