An open apology

Yesterday I motored up in a widely spaced group of 4 boats at the mouth of the jetty. Figured drift and dropped a Danforth with 10’ of chain and 200’ at a 50’ depth. Thought I was good but anchor didn’t catch. Tried twice more. Last try worked but I had already clearly pissed off the locals.I know the angle was short but thought a danforth would have worked at that angle.

Also, when well in-shore. My anchor is overkill. I’ve read a bit here about shallows anchors made from bent re-bar.

Other than telling to moving back north… any suggestions?

Stuff happens! Get back out and do it you get it right. Just pick a secluded spot till you figure it out!
