Anchor Trolley Question

I have a Ride 135 with a rudder. The rudder control line is on the starboard side of the kayak. My other kayak has the anchor trolley on the starboard side so I am used to that and prefer it on that side. Asking the experts here, is it a bad idea to put the anchor trolley on the same side as the rudder control line or should I put it on the port side?

Just looking for some CF wisdom or input on what others have done.

Thanks

you can run it down the starboard. THe rudder lines are snug to the hull and won’t get bound up with the trolley

whats starboard? Just kiddin  I would use a little thicker line or a different colored line as well… just helps you see the different lines to keep them straight and if you need to untangle it’s easier.

I have a trolley on both sides of my '135. Gives max flexibility for what ever wind/weather conditions you are in. Doesn’t affect to rudder control line at all.

Thanks for the input guys. Installed it today. Taking it down to Edisto Saturday. Now all I gotta do is slime it.

Just bought a Ride 135 today. Picking it up tomorrow. Did not get the rudder. Am I going to want one?

What I like about the rudder is your ability to steer while drifting along with the current. It is also nice if you are being pulled by a fish. I almost got pulled into an anchored boat while hooked up to a 31" red last year. Definitely not mandatory but I like having one.

My trolley runs down starboard over the rudder lines as well…no worries.

Congratulations, MM. I have an older ride… recently added a rudder. Very nice.

That about sums it up .
