Andi and Jack, Thanks for having me. The bull body slam was quite the sight not to mention russ’s hard hit between the legs.

Fritz, it was a off-brand boga that maxes out at 50.

as for the tackle failures, im sure many things played into it but the split rings on the ball bearing swivel were to blame along with the extra 20 lbs of weed that was on the line. Drags were kept loose enough and some times its just not meant to happen.

grilled some of that big boy in a soy/Worcestershire/cayenne pepper marinade that was created with a few other ingredients and man was that good.

Forgot to mention the big blue marlin we saw cruising the weedline in 1300 ft with dorsal out of the water. It was a great day that i’ll not soon forget.

Fritz, rest assured, I’ll be investing in a true BOGA this week so that there are no estimates in the future! Please note, I was quick to mention “we’ll never know the exact weight…” No way to know with the devices on hand. And, I confirmed today with SJYH they WON’T be getting a scale…:smiley:

Never met Russ in person but had several conversations with him via FB and ChasFishing. Such a nice and informative guy. I was lucky to have had the chance to converse with him.
