I went out to my trout spot to find thosands of finger mullet and trout gorging themselves on them. I got all excited:smiley: and tied on a mullet colored crease fly from Charleston Angler. Threw it in to the boil of feeding trout and… nothing.. Threw the crease fly and a FM pattern bendback untill dark with no hits. Is there some trick to make these trout hit the fly? I have no idea what the problem was.
the best luck i have w/ trout is with very little retrieve and a standard clouser. most bites come on the flys fall. the tide (if its moving) will gen. keep it enough off bottom, like swinging a fly downstream in a moving river.
use something black:smiley:
I would use a 1/2 stick of TNT and call it a day
