Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone. Just bought my first boat and looking forward to getting out on the water. I’m out of town at the moment but will be home soon. Before I left, I found a '01 Aquasport 161 Tournament Cat with a 90hp Johnson. Years ago I fished offshore a lot with my brother in NMB before I moved to Charleston. Really looking forward to the awesome inshore fishing here in Charleston. When not working I’ve spent the last 4 months on the internet here when it’s available. Between this site, Google earth and other postings, I believe I’ll have a good handle on things and a plan by the time I get home. Hope to learn a lot from the members.

I’m hoping so, from what Ive read on it it’s what they called their little big boat. With the motor on, it weighs about 2000lbs. I found it for sale on the side of the road and spun around to check it out. I looked at it for about an hour between two different times and bought it. So I’ve only see it for about an hour. The old owner spoke highly of it though. Gets up on plane fast, lots of space and storage. Just want to be able to fish the near shore reefs, jetties and the back water. We will see how it goes. I’ll be flying back home in June to try her out…

That sounds awesome! I am hoping to try to jetties and nearshore reefs this summer sometime as well. My wife and I just got our first boat and I’m a little cautious to give it a go without getting out on the water a few times first. If you’re headed out this summer and need a buddy boat, let me know!

Sounds good SeaShaker. I will be home for about 45 days around June 15 before I have to head out to work again. During that time(15 June to July 30) I will be doing a lot of fishing. I will get your information later and give you a buzz. Maybe we can get together a couple of times and find some good spots. I’ve been fortunate enough to spend a good bit of my free time on the net. I’ve looked at over 800 YouTube videos and blogs on top of blogs keeping every bit of information that I thought would help in my venture. I have a book I’ve been building/working on and It’s full of places to go, do’s and don’t s so I’ll share that with you as well.
