The wind was down so, I pulled out the 7wt. As long as the grass is clean of oysters the 7wt is my favorite fly rod for grass fishing. Plenty of stopping power.
Very nice fish. Not sure the six I was throwing the other night would have stopped him before he found a nice piece of structure to break me off on.
Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even though checkered with failure, than to take ranks with those poor spirits who never enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”> I had the 9wt in case I moved over to the part of the flat with oysters. I almost took a picture of the mud on my ass when I sat down (not intentionally) in the pluff mud. A first for me but, it was just a matter of time.
I’m not ready to try a 6wt in the grass. The 7wt works great, though.
