Headed out to the Wando again this morning before sunrise. The morn. started out chilly but turned out to be a great day. Fished the incoming and the high tide today. Things started out a little slow but picked up around 8am. I fished with live mullet and shrimp on the incoming tide and switched to artificials when the water got high. Turned out to be another awesome day of fishing overall I ended up with 18 redfish 3 or 4 runts, 6 upper slot, and the rest overslot also around 20 or so trout on artificials not exactly sure they were all right around 10" to 14". on average the redfish today were around 24" to 26" but I did manage 3 or 4 over 30". After all that I was beat headed to the ramp around 5pm long day but well worth it.
Hey DD…I’ll be headed out to the Wando tomorrow. Hadn’t been able to get out there in about a month or so. Other than the Red Daddy you caught that trout on…what arties are producing? Getting some MMs and Shrimp but if the live bait slows down, may try throwing some arties.
I was also using Z Man paddlers (rootbear), and Berkeley power bait minnow (Black shad). I didn’t have much luck with the artificials untill the tide came up. However I could’t keep the redfish off the live mullet. Good luck tomorrow i expect a busy day there were quite a few boats out today.
