Nice work. I’m glad to see you’re geting out there often. I’ve been working out of there area and I’ve had little time to fish. I need to take a business associate out to Murray soon. Any suggestions (location/bait) would be appreciated. TE
Hello Tim! Good to hear you’re still out there man. We went out of Jakes Landing 6am Sun, headed out to 100’ just outside of Jakes and anchored (200’ of rope!). Put down 6 lines at 50’-80’. All three fish caught on lively herrings hooked in the nose, fishfinder rigs, 18" leaders, 12# line, 4/0 circle hooks. All three caught in about the 55’ range between 7:15 and 8:30. We checked the baits every 30 mins to make sure they were alive and frisky. We missed 5 other fish, one that got to the boat was about 15 lbs and broke off at the hook. Left about noon. Bait tank had to be kept cool with ice in 2 liter bottles. Bait bought at Better Baits out on Hwy 6 at Jakes road, they open up at 5am on Sun am! This was my 2nd trip out this summer, 1st time out early but that was the time to get the hits. Might be able to go in August with you. Take care! -GC
PS: We tried in vain to get bait late Saturday at the towers. We just could not find em.
