Don’t have a pic because I never thought to get one. We routinely Sabiki up bait at the City of Richmond wreck. Occasionally off the bottom we get a red/pink fish about 3" long with two little fangs. The fish is slick and slimier than normal. Yellow eyes and a long dorsal fin to the tail.

Be nice to know what I’m feeding the BSB, Grouper and Red Snapper.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Maybe you can find a picture that looks similar to what you’ve described.

Sounds like some type of wrasse. Maybe a pearly razor fish or slippery dick (yes its a real fish).

I thought it may be the slippery dick but pictures don’t look like it. Could be a juvenile pearly razor fish. Next time we pull one up I’ll have to get pics. The only place I seem to catch them is on the bottom right at the buoy and only at the CoR.

Pearly razorfish and they will bite the crap out of you. They are very common in these waters. Never seen them more than 6 inches long or so…

Looks like it, do the juveniles have a yellow lateral stripe? Are they common in 50-60’ of water?
