Another mangrove snapper

Took the family out for a few hours Sunday on the Wando fishing live shrimp under corks.
Total was 6 species (reds, flounder, trout, ladyfish, croaker) including a small mangrove snapper.
The snapper was a first for me in Charleston.

Well done!

Beautiful family, great job!

Fantastic report… mangrove snapper population would be a nice bonus if it ever had a chance to explode… thanks for sharing

A buddy of mine went out last Monday and caught 5 mangrove and the week before that we caught 2 in the cast net.

Must be global warming.

HAs anyone caught these over the years in Charleston?

I caught some up the Wando 5-6 years ago. All of them are still very small and will leave by the end of summer.

We see them offshore while diving from time to time. We’ve killed some pretty big ones…

That’s awesome! Looks like a great day w/ the family.
