Another Solid Day On The Water - 10/20

Our GM had to get out of the office after a stressful Monday. He had a chilly launch out of Remley’s at sunrise and fished some go-to spots on the Wando and Cooper. He fished the incoming tide in roughly 3-12ft of water. Most of the water resembled sweet tea, but if you could find some more clear water, you’d pull multiple fish out of the spot. He managed 12 specks, 2 below slot reds, and 1 solid flounder. Bait of choice was the brand new FishStalker 5.5" dropshot in Popsicle fished on a TroutEye jig head. It was a killer combo yesterday.

Is that “FishStalker” as in the bait company from Greenwood, SC? I ask because that bait looks like a larger version of Tom’s Slab tail crappie jig. Are you carrying his stuff in your store?

He’s a class act and makes great baits.

Great report, btw. Cool sunrise shot too. Looks like the trout were inhaling that bait. What water temps were you seeing?

Earn it everyday

You are correct, Archer. We have picked up some of Tom’s salwater offerings in the form of bucktails, shad spin heads, and some of his soft plastics. He had originally designed this bait for drop shotting, but one of our guys decided he could catch trout and reds on it. Turns out he was right. I guess that’s why he gets the big office. We are trying to have Tom come down and do a seminar so keep watching for details on that end.

When they launched, water temp was around 64 and got up to around 69/70 when they took out.

That bait looks pretty sick on the TE. Is that the only color? Are they in stock?

Looks like whoever is holding that fish has a nail biting issue. Lol!! Either that or he has stuck his thumb in the mouths of too many fish with teeth.

I’d like to know a little more info (size, colors, baits per pack, price, durability) on that bait as well.

Nice report. Thanks for sharing.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

The bait is 5.5" in length. The colors that we currently have available are Popsicle (pictured), Glimmer Blue, Glimmer Blue Purple, Purple Haze, and Junebug Red. They come 10 to a pack and are priced at $4.79. Durability is decent unless you get around pinfish, puffers, etc. We are running out fast, so be sure to come by as soon as you can.
