Okay, so I know I can use automatic transmission fluid to fill my TT system. Question. Can I just top off what is already in there or, do I need to drain it and refill it completely?
Thanks, you folks are helping me immensely. And, I am learning!

If your oil doesn’t have any signs of water in it. … foamy or milky… just top it off. Honesty it’s not rocket science on lubricants to go in a tilt and trim system. I’ve used dex/mercon transfluid and also 10wt hyd oil. It’s not a high pressure exotic system. If you want to use the best there is … Advanced Cat 10wt Hydraulic oil imo. I’m not sure the smallest quantity you can get it in but I know a 5 gallon bucket is a 100 bucks. I’ll check and see if it’s sold in quart size. ? If not pm me and I can get you some as a sample. This stuff was re engineered to meet some crazy specifications. Running in 10,000psi systems with some crazy tight tolerances.
What really ticks me off on lubricants is the bare bones question … Will this work? The answer your get from every manufactor is NO. you have to use our brand. OUR BRAND! Like they actually make the oil. I do believe Mobil is making oil for CAT. Valvoline makes NAPA’s oil. or did, and so on.
