Another trip to Charleston

Hey guys! Back again wanted to give a thanks to optiker who helped me and my little brother pull in 2 keeper trouts back in early March around Easter weekend. Now I’m headed back down for Mother’s Day weekend and being in Raleigh for work I have no idea if things have changed. Are the trout still biting well? Never been able to pull in a red (besides a trip with a guide). I know this is going out on a limb and most fisherman won’t share a secret spot but where in the Charleston area works? I’ve learned the outgoing tide works well and any obstruction is well but I’ve nvr rlly ventured out past the wando or the cooper. Any suggestions possibly up past iop? Don’t have a boat for offshore and the jetties are just too rough for our liking so we’d love any advice. I promise we don’t fish the area enough to get in anyone’s way just every few months. Been a rough couple years and not to pull the pitty card but it would mean a lot of anyone could help my brother have a good time. So far we’ve been using artificial but are there any good live baits we can catch with a casting net that’ll work well this time? Are flounder hot yet for dragging some shrimp jigs? Any live bait we can use for trout and how? Thanks for any and all advice I feel like I’m always blowing this site up but I don’t have time or ability to go out and take the time for skunked runs. Trying to do my best to pull it off.

Thanks guys I appreciate anything in advance advice wise. You can also pm me
