Another VERY interesting morning in the yak

Well the bait was easy to catch this morning and I immediately started laying into the black tips. After about the thirds shark I should have known better to change my leader but of course i didnt and a screamer hit. Fight lasted about 2 min and the wire leader broke. From there everything went to ****. My $20 walmart reals screwed me bad. 2 more screaming hits, not sharks way to fast, and both time the drags on the reel would stick then pop and cause a bad backlash and snap. After the second time i was throwing a kanip ****. 3 big hits and no fish in the boat. Right when I started reriging my line my other line starts creeping away. Huh… i was like not shark, not king, strong but not fast. So I ended my day with a 10lbs (gutted) triple tail. The guys at Hadrells couldn’t beleive it again! This time a 10lb triple tail out of a yak!

You are making some guys say “no way”, not me, I had a 14’ john boat kick my butt just behind the breakers anchored, chumming, and 2-3 kings at a time for over an hour. Meanwhile me in my 28’er didn’t get a strike, that’s when I learned about trolling speed for kings, you’ve got the perfect speed, almost dead in the water. Congratsd on the tripletail, I watched Florida Sportsman’s show this morning on Tripletails, and none of theirs came close to yours…lol
PS: Gotsome TLD 15’s waiting for you if you want to get serious… PM if interested.

■■■■ just spent 90 bucks on a new BG. Had to relearn and old leason today. When going big dont skimp on tackle… Bought some tournament grade paino wire, ball bearing swivels, steel hooks, and spent the hour looking for my old penn hidden in a box. Just not worth the time to lose fish to stupid ****. Cant take back those missed fish. I should have known better then to be cheap.

You are really showing some GREAT fishing sprit with this triple-tail and your earlier king with minimum equipment. The only limits are the ones we put on ourselves. Great job buddy!

Just ■■■■! Hell of a job man, I might have to get out there with you one day soon. You heading out around the pier?

Nice work Eric. Looks like you’re just killin it this week.

There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame

Nice report. When are you going again?

we saw a triple yesterday checking out baits at the pier. We guessed him to be around ten pounds.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”>

OE,

forgot to ask

have you seen any tarpon roll out there?

I have not seen any tarpon. I have been looking for them but no rollers. I herd people been catching them somewhere in charleston so they will probably show up on the beach at some point with all the bait. That would be fun a 100 lb tarpon from a yak? I wanna do it!
