Antenna

I have now a 3’ stainless Shakespeare 3db whip. I ordered a Shakespeare 8’6db 5102 to replace it’. I relocated my boat and will be going farther out off shore. Figure I should upgrade my antenna. Has anyone have any knowledge of this antenna? Haven’t seen any bad reviews as of yet
Thanks

Messin ; Nothing specific on the antenna itself but i always feel more comfortable doing a radio check as i leave dock and as i arrive at my fishing area… Most importantly is always file a float plan with a trusted person…just sayin !!!:smiley::smiley::smiley:

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

The higher your antenna the farther it will rec. and transmit! if you have T top put it up there!

The antenna is king and height is your friend.

This is my first boat that I had a 3’ antenna on. All others I had an 8 ft 6db antenna. They suggested this 3’ Shakespeare when I bought the boat new. I will say it really preformed well. But I will feel better I think being farther offshore than normal with a larger antenna. And yes, it I will be mounted on the t top as soon as it is delivered.

Just remember to let it down when you approach a bridge!
