Any advice on the Ashley?

I have purchased a kayak and want to catch some fish in the Ashley. Mainly because I can roll the kayak down to the neighborhood landing and be on the water in a few minutes. We are in between the 526 bridge and the railroad trestle (Wando Woods.) I caught a small trout but so far that’s it. Any tips in this area or should i resolve to just getting good workouts and fishing when i need a rest?

keep searching. i know that area has reds. try starting with a low tide, work the water as it gets closer to the grass.

I know the ashley has reds I have personally spooked about a bazillion… haven’t caught a red on the ashley yet but I KNOW they are there… I find my best luck with them is outgoing tide on the edge of the grass… drop your bait on the bottom and one under a cork and they should find it… I am thinking about hitting the ashely tomorrow morning around 8ish… still gotta check tides… gimme a hoot here or e-mail me if ya wanna meet up, at
