Any Charters in or near Charleston running Freeman

I turn the dreaded 30 this year (not a big deal, but no one wants to leave there 20s right?) and my fiance and some of our friends want to go offshore since I love fishing so much. Looking to go end of April/early May and there will be 6 of us, 3 guys 3 girls.

I’ll be looking into FL/Venice for like August or September.

I am in love with Billy’s boats, Freeman, and am wondering if anyone knows anyone who runs charters here or within an hour or two nearby? For my bachelor party I have convinced my friends to goto venice for an overnight tuna trip, but I want to get out on one sooner if possible!

Any suggestions? 631-553-6301

Better idea… Go to the keys… Direct flights to Miami you can sometimes get for 100 round trip if you time it right on American. Rent a car drive to bud and mary’s marina and fish with Nick Stanczk on his freeman…

Not that jet Blue fly’s from Charleston to Ft Lauderdale you can get great deals on flights

Only Good Freeman I would recommend is usually booked for at least a yr in advance right now. Good boats are hard come by lately in FL. I will agree though the fishery here just isn’t worth the price compared to what you will experience elsewhere. Check out 360tuna Stan, a lot of open spots on 72 hr tuna trips, many out of Venice. Those kinda trips are usually 5-10 instead of the usual 20-30. They could prob accommodate a single group well and the fishing is unbelievable.

Updated my original post to reflect what time frame were looking at, and definitely appreciate the responses.

offshore from Chucktown is better than Florida. Go to the OBX for action.

I disagree. It really depends on the time of year. The time of year he’s talking about yes it is but it’s not always the case. If you wanna fish a freeman charter though I think your choices are limited no matter what.

End of April and early May are off the hook in Charleston. Other than a shorter run…What would the benefits be of fishing out of Florida??? Asshole people…?? 18 million of which that have came from all over who act like locals?? All these idiots here talk about is the ten mile run they have to catch dolphin. Like the inshore species that the state manages, south Florida needs separate regs on pelagics. A gazillion peeps fishing. We pay for all of these idiots moving there.

Hey guys Redstripe is right, the fishing out of Charleston is great!been fishing Charleston since 1999 Oct to end of June then back up north for Tuna.Last two winters at Sailfish Marina FL,yes only fishing off beach to 5 miles, lots of Sails, but if want to eat your catch, the Maui-Wahoo-Kings are smaller fish then we get in Chucktown. How about hooking up with Blue Marlin,Blackfin ,large Wahoo,Large Maui, and the bottom fishing, only thing missing are the Yellowfin-Bluefin-Bigeye,but the yellowfin might show, back in 99-2001 we had yellowfin, even hooked up a large Bluefin on his way north and the Sailfish are on there way! Just my 2 cents on the subject.
