Any Experience w NuCanoe?

Back in the Kayak market again after about 3yrs. Does any one have any experience with these yaks? Looking Spec. at the Frontier 12. I had the Ride 135 and loved it, even had a customized removable trolling motor. But I would like to be able to take my 9yr old son comfortably with me and they make the Frontier 12 set up with tandem. It says has weight limit of 650lbs. Any comments, suggestions, and opinions are welcome, thank you
It is a Hybrid Yak, even has scuppers

Personally I haven’t seen any around town. First time I saw one on the water was at the Virginia Beach kayak fishing ‘Boondoggle’ last year, and I talked to the guy who was paddling it, and he was pretty happy with it. It looks very stable, but he was by himself so I didn’t see it configured in a tandem…The Jackson ‘Big Tuna’ is another kayak that can be set up as a single or tandem and has a high weight-limit. Time Out Sports in Mt. Pleasant carries them…

Big Tuna all the way. Nucanoe is a small barge!

Why not just get a sneak boat?

Thank you, the Big Tuna is actually my 1st pick. And I love to deal with Time Out and D-Dave, thats where I bought the Ride 135 after talking to ya’ll on the forum.
Just thinking of my son and trying to keep him interested and comfortable. the Frontier can also be changed back into a single, and I could take the t-motor off in tourn. I don’t think it will paddle nearly as good as the ride did but,I probably wont do very long trips (miles wise) mostly Copahee/Wando, and other new places I can find to launch (legally). I have a boat I take him out in now but, I want him to experience Yak fishing and how much fun it can be, and he is big enough if he got really interested I could get him one of his own. I appreciate the thoughts

I don’t like that sneakboats can fill with water and sink. the frontier is still a yak, with scuppers. So its self bailing up to 400lbs. I feel very safe in a kayak… I do agree though to paddle long distances it probably is a barge

I bought the Big Tuna so I could take my boys out with me. If you’re looking for kid comfort, my four year old sleeps in the front seat. Another really cool aspect is that when he gets hot I can take out the tuna tank and he can sit with his legs through the hole in the water. With that said, the Big Tuna isn’t fast or an effortless paddler…she’s a big girl.
