How is anyone doing on kayak fishing? I’ve been in college and wanted to try it out on Christmas Furlough? Just wanted to see if the weather is worth it and if the fishing is worth it.
I put the canoe in over near Folly Beach today. Weather was breezy, sun was bright. Fishing sucked. Except for the dude in the jon boat beside me that put 9 keeper sheeps in the cooler.
We got one hit. I obviously was fishing in the wrong spot lol.
BTW if you are looking for Christmas action, PM me and I’ll give you some tips on putting in up at Lake Moultrie for some fun jack/chain pickeral action. On warmer days, they swarm up there.
Yeah I’ve tried folly in my kayak and haven’t had much luck. And I’ll definitely let you know if I need a spot to hit up!
I’ve been doing alot of catfishing out of the canoe since June. Nothing biting in my usual spots so me and the boy decided to try saltwater today. Fished a few creeks off the Wando for a couple hours and ended up with 8 nice specks.
Live for today and let tomorrow worry about itself.
I kayak fish at least two times a week and the fishing is definately worth it right now. I have had a lot of success with reds and trout. You need to scout out some places if possible and put in some time on the water.
