Just got my 'Droid - - learning it. Anybody got any good fishing/fishing-related apps to recommend? Weather, rigging,safety, GPS, knots, regs? I’m really going to enjoy this thing…just as soon as I learn how to work it!
I like marine weather by Bluefin. It will give you seas forecast and live bout info. Its a free app too.

Boat US has an App that i like. It records your path, and has buttons that says needs tow, and they will come get you (while in service area). Have never used it fpor that though.

For the droid there are 2 sweet apps that I use. One is the US Army Survival Guide. I know it sounds dumb, and it kinda is for practical purposes, however it is a great read. I get so into all the things it has. Teaches you obsolutly EVERYTHING about being stranded outdoors. Also one is a knot tying app. Im not quite sure what its called on the droid but its based off of the http://www.animatedknots.com/ website. THe iphone has their official app

Best $10 app on the market = navionics - US East. It is a very good little chart plotter. It is hard to believe it would be usable on that small platform/screen. But, it works. Great little backup for my dash mounted Garmin.
If you get it, be aware that the first download/install iteration takes hours and a WiFi connection. I let mine do it over night. After that, updates are quick and painless, like any other app.
