Wondering if anyone has been out and what’s biting.
Must be I am the only 1?
I went to the TailRace Canal 2 Saturday nights ago and drifted for catfish, didn’t get the first bite… Still a little too early I think, and maybe they had their fill of herring and are not hungry yet… Staying at the lakehouse in Bonneau for about 10 days straight from the 23rd of May on, so I will hit the catfish and Crappie pretty hard, will let yall know…
A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.
I went out last Saturday night. Water temps and current weather conditions tell me the fish should be shallow, but being stubborn as I am, I decided to check deep first. Marked some fish around 26’ between the hatchery and Pinopolis, anchored up for an hour and fished cut shad and Sonny’s without a bite. Moved to the other side of the point to 16’ of water, same thing. My intentions were to work 10’ shallower at a time, but the weather was beautiful, lake was calm and beer was cold so decided to ride out the evening. Some guys I know had good luck around the diversion canal at night and the lower end of Marion during the day. Might go anchor up at the canal one night this weekend. Good luck.
