Cruising up the Wando on Saturday with my lady friend and my boys. Lady friend is relaxing on the cooler seat, leaned up against the windshield. Hit a wake and crack! Split the windshield in half. Is there a local source for replacement, or can make one? Is this a project one can DIY? How difficult is lexan to heat and bend?

made my own on my old Mitchell, used a heat gun to warm it, got the plexi from the sign shop. Used 2X4’s as a break
I used a company called upd plastics and was very pleased. www.updplastics.com You have the option of sending them the old shield or following a detailed set of measurement instructions. I chose the latter and the shield was perfect. They keep a file of all the shields they have made. They may have the measurements for your shield. Hope that helps. I worked with a guy named John Carney.

There are always greater fish than you have caught, always the lure of greater task and achievement, always the inspiration to seek, to endure, to find.
Can’t think of the business name, but there is a plastic and glass shop on James Island at the corner of Dills Bluff and Camp Road. I understand they make them. I am a big time DIY, but this is a project I would leave to a professional. Don’t think I would have the patience to ensure I had done it up to my own expectations.
Tx,
The exact thing just happened to me…17 ft cc seapro. Sitting on the cooler seat and leaned against the windshield and crack!!
I’m looking to replace mine as well!
weird…
Thanks for the replies everyone. I am looking at several options, and would prefer to do business locally, but may end up with UPD. Going to check on a few other options locally. Like Contender, I am handy, but will leave this to the pros. Looks like I will have to drill out for the screws on thiers anyway and that is enough for me to tackle and feel like I, at least, did something. Lol!
@ Seatonic: I contacted UPD Plastics (website above) and they have them in stock for $135. Your windshield, mine and the 21’ Sea Pro are the exact same. Send me your email address and I will forward the pics and info they sent me. The price quoted is for a lightly tinted windshield, but they have them in clear, 3 shades of tint and green tinted.
