I haven’t seen any reports lately, so I figured they just aren’t biting.
We went Sunday and got some bait, pulled boards early, missed a few fish, but the action was very slow. Changed up to downrods after the sun got up good, but never even got a bite. Marked fish all over the place, tried live and cut bait, but nada… It seemed like once the sun came out good, they all just quit biting. Fished ballentine side all morning and got out of there by 1 when the joyriders were all putting in at the dam.
On a side note, we got our herring from the bait shed and he had some nice sized ones that were pulling our planers all over the place. We should have caught a lot of fish I would think.
Got 15 with 9 keepers trolling Sunday. All were 24-27 inches. Mid lake. Too much boat traffic to throw feathers or bounce spoons to stay on deeper schools during weekends for me. Fished 1-4:30ish.
“I may be going to hell in a bucket. But at least I’m enjoying the ride”
Tigerfin … just an FYI … the MSC DNR Tournament is in two weeks … $1,000 guaranteed 1st place payout … so reports will be thin for the next couple of weeks …
I hear you. I wish I lived up that way and could fish it more often, then I’d probably join MSC myself. I’m in Lexington every day for work, just not to fish. By the way, was that you lawcrusher that I spoke to at the bait shop?
