Any Reports?

Seems like it’s about time for some king mackerel reports. Any action out around 60’ ?

I have caught one per trip while bottom fishing in 60 -80 ft of water during the last 2 weeks.
Was live lining a king rig out the back.
All were 36-48”.

We tried slow trolling the shipping channel on Sunday with no luck. Plenty of 3’ sharks, no king bites. Menahadden are everywhere behind the fort. Any day now…

We got one over the 60’ on a BWC wedgie rigged with ballyhoo on Sunday. It wasn’t big, but it was my son’s first offshore trolling catch so no shortage of excitement on the boat. Wife and younger son got sick so we had to call it early.

Photo didn’t attach with first post.

We ran out last Saturday form (South Edisto) and fished around the Edisto nearshore we managed two kings 18 pound and a 28 pounds. The NE waves kicked up around 2:30 so we headed to the North Edisto we thought it would be a better ride. After getting around the sand bars we were flagged down by 3 young men broke down in a 23ft Tidewater we pulled them in to steam boat landing and then finished the day off red fishing.
What a day!
