Just curious if anyone’s thrown a net in the last week or so?
I saw 1, (literally 1…) jump when I was throwing a TT off a dock last weekend but didn’t see any on the bottom at low tide where they’d usually be.
I do still see reds crashing bait on the shoreline at low tide, so they’re probably chasing mud minnows or shrimp.
Still a few large mullet jumping but not seeing any small schools skimming the surface.
I haven’t seen any. I’m sure there are, but If you go out counting on finding some for bait, you would likely throw the net longer than you fished. I did see some way up the Ashley last year in December. Freak occurance I suspect.

The last few times I’ve castnetted from my dock, no shrimp or baitfish, where I was catching plenty of them before. Maybe the waters too cold is what I’ve thought.
The last few trout i have eaten had nothing but shrimp in their belly, so they are still around i’m sure, but i’ve just used mm or artificial.
Threw a TT off a creek dock this AM on the incoming. Water looked great, lot of big mullet jumping, some reds crashing bait on the shore but only had a couple bites, hooked a flounder but lost him near the dock. Was surprised I didn’t catch a bunch of trout because a week ago, they were really active.
There were some cormorants and a loon (I believe it was a loon) in the creek driving for fish. Wonder if that had anything to do with my lack of success this AM?
Didn’t see any shrimp but didn’t throw a net either.
Saw a ton of shrimp while scouting a spot on Thursday. dead low tide, but it was shallow. We were walking the duck Boat through the mud

Tons of of bait shrimp in my hole off the stono. Threw the net a dozen times and had about 5 pounds to freeze for winter. 12-14 feet at low tide.
