never really been king fishing around here but would like to try it…any tips on locations, baits, rigs, etc.
thanks for the help
Go out around Fort Sumter and catch some pogies, then head on out to the shipping channel and slow troll with them. If you are just starting, buy some pre-made kingfish rigs. The more you go and read, the better and easier it will be.
If you want to learn more, take a charter with Robert Olson on the Knot at work, you could learn alot.

Normally it can be pretty easy, just get pogies and use live bait rig and drop them in the water at dead idle once you leave the rocks and troll shipping channel.
I like to weave in and out of the buoys .
If you have a downrigger run one deep, if not may want to use a planer. Most of my bigger fish come on the downrigger.
Keep your drag very loose and do not force the fish or you will pull the hook
Also some troll with dead cigar’s but I have never used them, pogies are easy to come by but if you have some cigars might want to take them just in case.
I have most of my luck early in the am till about lunch time

and do yall usually chum while slow trolling?
Never tried chumming while trolling but if you want to drift and freeline live bait chumming works great
Not sure how long they stay around but I am guessing early fall
