Any Tips?

Hey guys - I am taking John and Jeremy Moseley out fishing next Tuesday morning - 7/28 in appreciation for their continued support with the DNR tournament - Captain’s watch and $$ donation.

If anyone has some pointers on spots to try, I sure would appreciate a call :sunglasses:. Between work and vacation I have been out West for three weeks. Back in Eastern time zone this past Saturday.

The last time I went out was June 15th and bite was tough. Similar to posts I have read recently. I fished a hump and a point in D3 in 50-60 feet - covered up in fish in both spots but could not get a bite with cut or live bait. One 24" fish came from power reeling a dead herring off the bottom.

Give me a call or PM.

Thanks!

Dan, I haven’t been out but 7 times this summer due to my boat situation but can lend a little guidance. There are plenty of decent fish in the vicinity of John’s in 60-80 feet of water. Goat has also been good at times. Also, don’t rule out the deep river channel edge trees. However, we know things can change from day to day.

Caught some decent fishing suspended off the river channel in the lower pool in 80ft…fish suspended around 60. If the wind is not too bad a slow drift should work well.

Thanks for the tips Fogman and Richy! Hoping to get out Sunday evening and/or Monday evening to look around.

Back tonight from a seminar in Atlanta. A couple of days of Atlanta traffic and drivers makes me glad to be back in the Midlands!!
