I’ve shot a recruve for a few years but its been a year since I’ve picked it up, keep meaning to, hope it hasnt left me too much. Are you looking to get into it or do you shoot too?

strip…strip…FISH ON!

I’ve been shooting a 45# Super Grizzly for a year or two and love it, but I am looking at getting a new bow in 50# and was hoping to find some input on the '59 Kodiak remake versus the Super Kodiak and the Martin Hunter. I’m leaning toward the '59 Kodiak right now.

I have two old Bear recurves I use to shoot a lot. One is a 58" x 50# Grizzly. The other is a 60" x 48# Super Kodiak. Both shoot well but I like the feel of the SK better than the Grizzly. It seems to be a little more forgiving on arrow groups for me than shorter bow. Griz might be better from a tree stand but, I never shot anything with them but, targets and 3-D contest. I always took the Kodiak for the 3-D. I hunted with my compound.

You can’t catch 'um on the couch!

I can’t comment on the kodiaks, or any other recurve for that matter, but I’ve been shooting a 55# martin hunter for several years off and on. I seem to go through phases of shooting it often then letting it sit. But every time I pick it up and take it out I love it. Depending on where you’re located and schedule, I’d be happy to let you try it it out.

Been shooting traditional since 1990…hunt mostly with longbow and handmade arrows but dabbling with selfbows and hand made reed arrow shafts and obsidian heads. Drop me a line and will get up with you. I am in West Ashley.

I shoot a Morrison Cheyenne, 62", Leadwood riser with Max 1 carbon/foam limbs, 45#@28". Sweet shooting bow!
