2006 17’ Sea Hunt Triton w/ 90 Yamaha, formerly a 1991 15’ Key West Explorer w/ 60 Johnson.
Someone looking for him last week found a car with a dead man in it that had been in the water for 16 years. But no sign of the baitman. The car was at the ramp in 17’ water at Beer Garden Creek landing!
My opinion as well as a few others is he nor that boat is in that Lake. Alot of stuff just doesn’t add up…

DNR is asking anyone with Downscan and Side Image to join them this Saturday for a big search. I believe the family is providing gas cards or something to help out with fuel. I saw this on Facebook so I’m not sure where else you could find information except may Lake Hartwell Outdoor Center.

Today marks the 64th day since we were notified that my brother, Mitchell D. Gibson, was missing on Lake Richard B Russell. How is it that we STILL have nothing at the 60 day mark? DNR SWEARS his boat and his body are in that lake and therefore, I will keep looking in the lake until it can be proven otherwise. (Some names have been withheld below to protect the privacy of people until I am allowed to even say anything because I was told that it was a missing fisherman and missing boat and no foul play was suspected). I am NOT saying his boat and body are not in the water, but since we have not found a boat or body,then all options should be researched until we find a boat or body. I will say that for now, I will agree that Mitchell went on that water and did not come off and that is the ONLY thing that I am 100% sure of.
~~~~March 12, 2016 (Saturday): Mitchell left Lake Hartwell Outdoor Center @ approx 7:15pm. Mitchell arrived at the 7-11 in Calhoun Falls at 9:06pm, 9:09pm bought honey buns and Mt. Dew, 9:14pm and 9:17pm looked out front door of the 7-11, Mitchell talked to the cashiers for approximately 4 mins and left Calhoun Falls 7-11 at 9:21pm. Mitchell left the parking lot and turned right onto the road that heads toward McCormick. (according to the video).
Last call was 6:33pm to our cousin. Last text sent from Mitchell's phone at 10:12pm and last text received at 11:31pm per phone records. At some point between 11:00pm and 12:00pm, a random picture was taken with his phone (picture attached). We are stiYou can find map and picture taken on his phone on the fox news link. Sorry, I thought they were still in post attachment.

Photo looks like it couldve been a watercraft coming towards his boat and maybe he was using his cellphone cameras flash to signal them? Its a longshot but its the first thing I thought of seeing that image.
No matter how many variables I have control over, I never expect a bite. I only hope.
also if you zoom in on the bottom left quarter of the image, it looks like a fishing line (maybe?) going into the (water?)

I think Chip is right . Much more to this tragedy then meets the eye . Very suspicious circumstance.
