I always watch this site …Capt. Randy put us on 33 fish with 16 keepers a few years back and I kinda check my day compared to his day(todays catch)…I don’t know if it was the last years drought …but…it seems like last summer’s die off has really affected the striper fishing…what say ya’ll ? …I don’t think I have read a single report of good striper fishing on lake Murray after sharky posted up a limit last winter !..anybody hear of some good fishing lateley ?

The more you fish, the better you lie.

Yeah, seems like everyone is just catching tons of small fish. I have only caught one legal fish since the fish kill. I have not had my boat so I have probably only been out maybe 15 times. But still, I did horrible. Others have caught some big fish, but most people seem to have just been catching little ones. Last trip out Phishinphan and I caught 18 and only one keeper that was just above 21".

I agree. I have not been much so far this year but have not done nearly as well as in the past. It also seems like the Blue Heron Guide used to post pictures with lots more fish than they do now. I am planning to go several times in the next two weeks. We will see how it goes.

I went yesterday afternoon for a few hours to troll u-rigs. I only caught three fish but all three were keepers.

1 not measured, but weighed just under 15 pounds - best this year for me

I have only gone three times this year, but have managed to catch a few keepers each time. Nothing like the numbers I have caught in previous years. Your guess is as good as mine as far as why.

Durring the fish kill I did not see many BIG fish. seemed like they were all around 18" to 25". Maybe a lot more sank to the bottom than floated to the top. Maybe its just a cycle. All these little ones will make for a good fishing down the road.
