Anybody Fish This Week

I looking for any report any one can give me. I am gonna go in the morning and have not been all week and did not do great last weekend. The newest report I think I saw was Lawcrusher`s. I know the weather is screwed up. Just looking for a starting point if any one can help I sure would appreciate it . Thanks in advance

FISH: An animal that grows the fastest between the time it’s caught and the time you tell your friends about it!

With what reports I have gotten this week I would be setting up in any crk from bear crk down to the dam…got a report of a boat catching over 40 fish with only 4-5shorts. They were only throwing flukes around birds that were working an area…target shallow points… they sent me a pic and they weren’t fooling around… kinda made me sick to see it to be honest… murray will never be what it used to be with pix like that…

Murrymaker, If I am getting the message sounds like ALOT of nice fish were taken out of the lake. I know it’s a put and take lake but imagine if we only kept a few here and there. It could be a world class fishery!

What Chip said (Bear down - Shallow water points) … I would not mind seeing a 2 fish per person per boat per day limit put on Murray for the next Five years … Imagine how much that would help the overall fishery in Murray

It might help. It could help provided there isn’t another massive die off like the one we had several years ago. It’s my understanding that the larger stripers are first to be affected during the late summer. It would be nice to have the oxygenation lines like a few other lakes have to help keep the bigger fish alive and healthy.

Fished up the lake yesterday, from Billy Drier up to Saluda River Resort! Lots of shorts, some good fish mixed in, none on cut all on freeliners

If they are within their limits what are ya gonna do…? I throw em all back. I get enough Mahi and Sea Bass.

Went out yesterday morning and fished Bear. We had a bunch of shorts with only had one keeper. They hit boards and one hit on a downrod. We had a lot of pullbacks.

People wonder why few big fish come out of Murray. That’s why I don’t post where I’m catching fish on a public forum that thousands of people are cruising. Doesn’t take long for everyone to come out of the wood works.

???. In this one thread there was people saying fish can be caught from the dam to Saluda river resort… but that is gonna ruin a spot? That is Over 25 miles of Lake as the crow flies…next thing ya know people are gonna go crazy when someone post they caught fish at the towers in a couple months…hate to ruin that spot…

Yep Murrymaker, kind of what I was thinkin there is a whole lotta lake from Saluda river resort to the dam. I am sure I could catch a rockfish in that spot if I could only find it.

A specific creek has been mentioned numerous times. I’m all about helping a fellow fisherman out but PM is your friend. Say what you want about 25 miles of Lake but it can get congested REAL quick. Not trying to be critical just an observation

This forum gathers, mostly, a bunch of good people that have no issues sharing information about fishing techniques, conditions of the lake and general location of the fish(maybe no exact coordinates). The tendency is not to say much around tournament times but it is fine any other times. If what I share makes somebody’s fishing trip a nice one, then I am proud of myself!

I’m glad to help a fellow fisherman. Like I said, I’m not trying to he critical just an observation from someone who fishes Lake Murray alot. Word travels fast.

Come on guys … seriously?? Bear Creek is roughly 5,500 acres of water … there’s NOTHING specific about that … FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ACRES (roughly the size of 4,200 football fields) … Jeez … and even THAT doesn’t matter since Striper are ALWAYS moving …

Last week I fished Bear Creek - couldn’t NOT hook a fish - 1st half of the 1st pull - done - the rest were just for fun …

This week I fished the same spot - never marked a fish and only caught one … No worries …

FYI - boat traffic last Monday was half a dozen or less - boat traffic this Monday … half a dozen or less … I posted video of where I fished last week … nobody slammed the spot - it’s too darn big … LOL

It’s no military secret where the Stripers are “generally” … the key is zeroing in on them at the right time, with the right bait, at the right speed, that matters - not what giant ass creek they happen to be roaming at the time …

I’ve been fishing within 30 feet of a boat that was constantly on and we never ever got a bite … I’ve also been the boat that was always on with another right there that couldn’t catch their own bait …

I heard an expression recently that seems to fit …

The “professionals” (those that actually put time in on the water rather than read about it) fish 10% of the lake and catch 99% of the fish …

While I can appreciate what you guys are trying to say just remember that sitting at your computer and reading forum posts won’t catch you any fish - trust me, I’ve studied these forums enough for two lifetimes but I’ve learned more in the last 5 months that I’ve actually fished in this lake than I did in the past 3 years that I’ve been a member of this forum …

Tight Lines …
