Anybody fish with this group ~ Murray

Just wondering

Several of them post on this forum, in fact we’re members. The MSC meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 PM and has regularly scheduled monthly tournaments. What kind of question are you asking?

A bunch of the guys post on here and it is very well run group. They also do a lot for the fishery and working with the Dnr biologists. I have fished a couple I their tourneys with a member and they host a good weigh in. My one criticism is their 4 fish creel and no requirement of striper tubes, so that means some tourneys 80 plus are being harvested. Overall I would recommend them, if I lived closer I would be a member.

I figured some of you fished with this bunch . It looks like a nice clean run group is all . I was searching for planer boards and run across the site .
Being from the upstate I don’t think I will fish with them . Nothing bad to say about them just saying I wish there was a group close to Hartwell like them .

if you’re looking for planer boards go with WATER BUGZZ.i have been using them since the came out.they are light and pull true.the guy that’s makes them lives in nc.richard at lake world on murray keeps them in stock.you will not find a striper club better than midlands.you can get the planer boards on ebay also.

I know several of their members. I’m convinced that as a group they are very good for the striper fishery in Murray and the State of SC. As I understand it, Murray is basically a “put and take” fishery. In years gone by the SCDNR used to stock between 500,000 and 1,000,000 stripers per year in Murray, unless the articles I read were in error. I’m not sure how many are currently stocked each year, but that information is probably available from the DNR. I doubt that whatever the striper club takes out of Murray in a tournament over balances the overall good they do for the fishery.

Fishingpox, Maybe it’s time for you to start a striper club up there. Some of these Midlands guys would probably be happy to help with the “Upstate Striper Club”.

As striperskiff stated check out the striper kings. Their home lake Is Hartwell. And run meetings once a month at logans steak house I think.

Thanks , I’ll check them out . I heard of striper kings before but forgot the name.

I usually catch my fill of spotted bass at Keowee for eating but I like a hard pull too at times . I also have several spots to catch stripers on hartwell with bait during the spring which I was thinking of doing tomorrow but that’s about the only time of year I go after them .

UPSTATESTRIPERSCLUB sounds like work

Well they had a pretty good catch this last tourney
