Anybody have a good leg of lamb recipe

I’ve had a request from the Greek side of the family to cook them a leg of lamb for Christmas. Any suggestions? I’ve never cooked a leg of lamb before. Have cooked some goat, wasn’t real good.

Get a boned one or bone it yourself. Remove much of the fat. Sear in a cast iron skillet and paint with a Rosemary/olive oil mix. Salt and pepper. Let sit for half hour then oven bake at 450 until it is up to the temp you like. Use the same skillet. Slice.

My last leg of lamb was a chewy mess  I seasoned it like Wando Grill, cut out all the chewy sinew, marinated it 24 hrs with the addition of lemon to break it down and tenderize it some and grilled it butterflied, it turned out like shoe leather. I have a question Wando, do you roll and tie yours up or roast it flat, certainly yours was better than mine. I do have a photo of how it turned out.

Roast flat. lile a steak to,med rare.

I wimped out and cooked a ham instead. Didn’t want to take a chance on ruining Christmas dinner. The ham came out great  I’ll experiment with the lamb when company isn’t coming.

Take the leg, throw it away, buy a frenched rack instead

Now your talking, Frenched rack = yummy :stuck_out_tongue: But at 50-55 a rack it better be someones birthday. Good time to loose the kids, cut on the Barry White, pour your favorite adult beverage, and well you know, play scrabble [:0] Larry I can help you with a rack of lamb recipe, but your scrabble strategy is up to you.

I’ve never bought one of those, will have to look into it. Food selection in Clyo, GA ain’t what it is in Charleston. Probably would have to drive 100 miles to find one of those around here, but if I started early… $50 doesn’t bother me a bit and my son’s birthday is New Year eve. Maybe I can order one online, that’s how I buy most things anyway?

Please do, and I usually do OK at scrabble
