Not talking about with a bottle of wine and nice dinner, the ones I want gone build dams and flood property. Anybody have traps and advise that I might have access to? Property is in Williamsburg county.
I prefer the PBR and take out china food kind myself.
I put out a bunch of conifer traps yrs ago and only got 1 beaver, 1 otter, 1 turtle.
I am sure there are experts that can do better.

I had a huge problem with them the last couple of years. I bought a couple of traps and set them around my pond. They sat for a whole year without ever doing any good. I finally caught a few with the AR and a spotlight. Eventually we had enough rain to flood the creek behind my house and it washed away the huge dam they built. I have killed 13 in the past year and a half and still find fresh sign of them at least once a month. They are hell to get rid of…

X2 on getting them at night.
this is going to be good
Beaver are fairly easy to catch on or around their dams as well as the mounds. They are creatures of habit that will follow the same path over and around the dams and can be caught using 330 conibears. Using a slide set on the (**() is effective but a little more trouble. In a month or two they will begin to breed and you will see mud piles that they construct that they leave their scent.using a gland scent(purchase online or at stores that sell trapping supplies)pile a mound of mud in such a way as to funnel the beaver to the gland lure and use a 330 conibear to catch them as they check out the strange scent you have placed.Pond beaver can be hell to catch, better to shoot those.Hope this helps.
castor scent and a few snares, works every time.a conibear will scare the crap out of you whilst setting,a small child can set a snare.

I know nothing about laws here this might be illegal but a couple of years ago up north we were having problems. You can get in there with a pitch fork and rip the dam up and they will come fix it in short order this would give you a good oportunity to shoot them. I heard of a study where they didn’t even need to rip up the dam they just played the sound of running water through a speaker and they would come check it out. Pack a lunch if you plan on doing this the dams they make are impressive, dynamite would work well
