anyone dare

Did anyone dare to try it this weekend? Went by the ramp at wappoo today and it just looked terrible. All kinds of entertainment over there though, wish i would have sat there a little longer:sunglasses:

I don’t even like to boat on a normal weekend in the summer because of all the weekend warriors, wouldn’t want to test it on a big weekend like the one that just passed.

The yahoo’s we’re out in full force. Me and my fiance made it out on Sunday for some R&R without any major debacle. Always paramount to be on the lookout for yahoo’s on a weekend like that.

We went out early Saturday morning and again early Monday morning. We put in on Sullivan’s and didn’t stray too far from there and were back off the water by lunch. The traffic wasn’t too terrible out there, but there were definitely some idiots on the water.

Went out Sunday. Fished Folly late morning for last of outgoing. Lot of fish activity but they weren’t very interested in the mud minnows I had available. Just a few takers for an hour or so of fun fishing before loading family up for cruising. Mostly “fisherman” in the morning as most were considerate to slow as they went past at a narrow area. Late in afternoon, had to run up Stono to St John’s for fuel and that’s when the craziness was in full swing. Was a good opportunity to explain defensive boating to son as there was opportunity after opportunity to point out inconsiderate or just plain wreckless boating of others. He now understands to watch for people making the direct line from marker to marker (passing immediately next to each marker!) and planning your path around them as they’re unlikely to alter their path at all.

I took the wife and kids out to play, not fish… and there was no shortage on entertainment…

The current was ripping at the ramp at Wapoo… Watched a guy whale his brand new bow rider into the dock… Pucker factor of 9+.

I am fairly new to the intracoastal, but it amazes me how people just fly by anchored boats fishing… There is little respect there.

Wife wanted to go out yesterday with the 3 kids. Would have been baby’s 2’nd time on the boat. I said hell no! I didn’t want to deal with that fiasco.
