We pulled live bait this evening and didn’t do much better. Got a few shorts and then at about 8:30 got our first and only keeper.

Who came up with that term and why?

Just their play on words. It’s made by Yum…the company that makes Money Minnow swim baits.

Strange year, the fishing is usually great this time of year and when the water is in the 70* range. I wonder if all the water flowing in from greenwood pulled the fish up lake or if fluctuating water temps/cold fronts just have them messed up. Marked plenty of fish Friday but couldn’t get them to hit. Plus they seem very scattered. Hopefully they turn on by Friday.

No luck this am again. Lake was choppy with the wind

I’ve had some decent days this spring, but it definately seems to be more inconsistant than normal. Like you said, I think it may be all these fronts coming through and sharp fluxuations in the water temps. Looks like the weather should be stable the next few days, so hopefully should be good this weekend. Otherwise, we will need to come up with another excuse theory.

Is it not the right time of season to be pulling rigs? Is everyone switching to live bait?

There are only a handful of people on here that pull artificials on a consistent bases…I would say 98% of us live bait yr round…

I pull on downriggers but only in the summer heated nights just booze cruising…

There is nothing better to get your blood pumping than watching a big bait run from a striper then get hammered. LOVE watching those planer boards skiing backwards.

Those fish look a little on the skinny side for their size. Like they have lost their faux spawn bellies, but have not got their pre-summer heat herring bellies on them.

You mean something a little like this??

Striper nailed the bait just about 7’-10’ from the back of the boat … by the time Erika realized it the striper had shot 100+ feet back and was running on the surface …
