Anyone fished Cape Romain/Bulls Bay recently?

My buddy and I are taking our yearly week-long camping/fishing trip down to Buck Hall, and was wondering if anyone had fished the area recently…
Also, the last two trips have been fairly unproductive, anyone that is willing to give some advice/tips on spots for tailing fish (or any fish for that matter) would be greatly appreciated, as the last couple of years have been really tough for us. We are catch and release only, and if you prefer to reply by PM that is cool.

Thanks!
Jason

The restrooms are still ooo and well has not been fixed. 10 months later…

I read about that on the website. When you say that the restrooms are Ooo, what does that mean there is something functional and it is just awful? And the well not working, does that mean no water at any RV sites or in the showers? I am only a week and a half out and they said it was partially functional when I called the forest service about a month ago.

We are tent campers. It’s a hard week…:face_with_head_bandage:

Fishing hasn’t been great in bulls bay. I still frequent it, but I keep my expectations low.

Eeeek… no bueno. Unfortunately, work was notified three months ago, camp reservations were made two months ago, and I will be there regardless of the circumstances. Camp shower if necessary, and a little tent with a 5 gallon bucket if the bathrooms are out of order. I’m going freaking fishing!

Portolets at CG and boat landing. Camp water is there but they want you filter it. Pretty sure showers are running just no toilets.

Thanks man!

No problem at all getting on fish north of BB.

Are usually fish lighthouse island, Mill Island, and the inlet at five fathom creek…

I camped there in May with no issues as far as showers, etc. Even the bugs weren’t bad. I only managed a few whiting and, of course, sharks. I usually do better later in the fall with trout, reds, etc.

Man I swear all I catch around there is north or south or near the icw
