Heading out of IOP, probably going to the gt hole chasing bfin and hoos. Anyone else going out? Wx looks nice. Be on 68
We are going out but not that far. We will be jigging for redfish but MissEmily will be half way to you and doing some dives. We all monitor 68.

Was thinking about going nearshore to try for false albacore. Let us know if you catch anything out there. I wasn’t planning to try for Hoos or BFT until March.

“How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when it is quite clearly Ocean.” - Sir Arthur C. Clarke
Sorry for the delay reporting. School takes priority. Anyways, cleared the jetties to a confused ocean. Ride was less than pleasant but was bearable at 29 kts. Lines in at the hole around 7:10. At 7:30 5 lines go down, thinking “going to be a good day”. Get all five to the boat to discover they are just little tunny. That continued all morning, could not keep all lines out for more than a few minutes. Despite picking up and moving a couple miles we still had the same results. Terrible. No wahoo bites all day, water was kind of dirty. Decided to jig the break and some bait we marked. Caught tons of almaco jacks, AJs, and usually suspects. Also caught a massive gag on the jig, 45-50 lbs. Thought it was a wahoo at first b/c it hit 70 ft off the bottom. Unfortunately he was released. Might post a pic.

Think we saw yall that day.Same results for us.18 bobos and a blackfin
Lets see this 45-50 lb gag!!! That is a beast.
Fished that Sunday at the GTH. Same story. Falsies everywhere, didn’t even have to rig ballyhoo, they hit whatever was in the water.
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.
