Bump…Id like to know the same. I can read the weather all day and still not know whats going on. An Old salt licks his finger and predicts the week. Help us rookies out.

Looks a little bumpy for my 23 footer, I will be bass fishing I guess. If I had a 30 footer I would probably go.

I think I will pass.

FWIW the primary/dominate period is calling for 8 seconds but the 2nd period swell is predicted to be around 4 seconds.
Looks like a low pressure system is foretasted to come in Saturday night. If that comes early it could be a really bumpy ride back.
We are going to pass.
this post caused that crap to pop up between 2 and 8AM…won’t be a pre-dawn departure for us, but we’re gonna go try to kill something…

We’re going to give it a shot, leaving wappoo at 5
Looks like a ride that’ll foam your beer up to me
We’re going to see how the run out is going… just hitting the 60 for some bottom dwellers, but we sure don’t want to go swimming!
Heading out around 730 as winds die down.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!
Im with handwr…just concerned about taking a 23 ft boat to the 60 thats not our boat. Any experienced thoughts or do you think its reasonable? Any sound advice appreciated. Thanks

when you post ^^^^^^^^^ this you make the weather bad. I would not be going unless i had a sporty.

The answer to your question though,I would be hesitant on going in anything under a 26
23 footer if you have tidal rails
This has been some really unpredictable weather. Thursday reefcast was off by a good bit. I just don’t see it being worth a Crap until this extreme heat goes away. Hopefully soon.
FWIW we made it in and back with no trouble-- seas better than forecasted and settled down a ton around 10AM. 8 or so boats out there with plenty of action and life in the water

Man…You guys must not be getting in Charleston what we are getting in Murrells Inlet. The lightest wind I have seen today is 20 knots. I bet we have had 30 knot gusts. It’s white capping in my creek. Crazy weather.
it was a little sloppy, but not a bad day at all…I’ll take it any time…

Yeah it looked like there was a lull offshore when checking the folly surf cam yesterday morning. Sometimes you never know until you are past the jetties
Left at 5:15 from wappoo ran 23 knots out to 250ft and 24 knots back to the hill
