Trying to put together a crew or two…Trying to be at the landing by 5ish…Just to see the lake in day light…Havent been out there since sept…Going to head across and start probally around #2 or #3…VHF will be on 68 or 69…Hope everything goes well and we make it…cant catch them from the couch…later
We will probably get to the landing between 7 and 7:30. Hopefully we’ll be fishing by 8. Don’t snag them all before we get there!

I’ll be sure to report ASAP, good or bad. I spoke earlier to a friend that went last night. He said they caught plenty of keeper striper and threw back plenty of short ones. They also caught two cats. One of the cats was close to 70lbs. Maybe you’ll get out there soon!

We all have been doing well with the stretch 25’s all times of the night. I might go next Tuesday or Wednesday night also…

Yes, I usually troll in a counter clockwise circle at the dam.
Yes, I am catching big cats trolling the stretch 25’s. I have always caught them trolling, but this year I have caught more than ever. It’s funny to me that they put the limit on the blue cats. There seems to be plenty of them, but I guess DNR knows more about that than I do:smiley:.

there’s my answer…I now know what I have been doing wrong…I have been trolling clockwise from #2 out East end of locks…coming in front of locks…pass the light…down the side 100 yards and then around to #2 again…but I have been going “clockwise”…so now all I have to do is change and do it backwards…

I was just stating how I do it per your question. I catch most of my fish trolling the hydro side of the dam. I go right down the left side of the wall to the corner and then turn and go down in front of the hydros. Then, I’ll curve out toward the third buoy and then turn and troll to the inside of the other two buoys back toward the wall again. Most everyone trolls in this same “counter-clockwise” manner, just like NASCAR . But it all boils down to how you are holding your mouth

Also, I rarely troll out past the hump. I did however, during the summer, troll between #10 and #17 with some success. I do troll on the lock side when I need a change of scenery . I have caught some on that side down to 3/4 the way to end of the dike.
