anyone have contacts in Costa Rica?

My captaining gig with the Boy Scouts ends in a month and I’ll be heading back to Charleston. A buddy and I have been tossing around the idea of going to Costa Rica to fish and live for about 5 months. I’m hoping to find a job at a marina or mating on a sportfisher. Does anyone have any contacts they wouldn’t mind sharing? I’m a Citadel grad with my capt license and I’ve been in the Keys fishing since February. I’ve also worked at a marina and am a responsible, competent, hard worker. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should contact this guy, he is from SC and runs a boat in Tamarindo. I don’t know him, but he’s highly spoken of and maybe he could point you in the right direction.

I’m going to give him a call later today when I get back in from the blue water! Thanks

Anyone else?

Yep, talk w/ Lee (mentioned above). He should be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

If you want to go a little more north, I have a friend of a friend who is from HHI who runs a charter outfit in Panama.

Speak to Jamie Walker - owner of Frenzy Sportfishing. Jamie lives in Columbia, SC and part-time in Costa Rica. He has a great fleet. Not sure if he’s looking, but it would be worth a shot. His boats fish out of Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. Fished with them in January and had a blast! www.frenzysportfishingcom.
