or want to learn about tarpon fishing in the Pamlico Sound in NC? The Oriental Rotary Club in Oriental, NC is having their annual Tarpon Tournament July 27-28. They need official observers for the event since its a catch and release tournament. You would need to be at the captains meeting on Friday night and then you will be assigned to two different boats during the two days of fishing. The observers get VIP treatment from the captains and tournament officials. Free t-shirt and fed very well as you learn about tarpon fishing. I did it for 3 years in a row back in the late 1990’s. Observers are selected on first come, first served basis. I will be selling fireworks at the intersection of Hwy 378 and Priceville Rd this evening and tomorrow afternoon. (where Hwy 378 goes from 4 lanes to 2) Drop by and give me the fishing report and see cool things that go BOOM!
It’s a fun weekend. Nice little sailing town. I use to set up my camper at the campground for the weekend. Some nice red drum will get caught too. I got assigned to some nice boats. Most of them will fish bait on the bottom in the neuse river.

Will you be selling Wednesday and Thursday as well? I try not to buy fireworks too early. We save bait money that way. My boys and I have very little restraint when it comes to things that go boom!
We sure will Fogman. It’s my brother’s stand. He has been working with another guy the last 4 or 5 years but this year decided to give it a go on his own. I’m just helping him out and learning about all of the products. It’s located at the Quick Stop there where 378 goes from 4 lanes down to 2. Me and Kelsey will be there around 2pm today. She has friends that she expects to drop by throughout the day.
