F&G - I’ve got an Outback, but haven’t tried the Adventure. The peddle is way cool. I avoided it as a gimmick for a couple years, but the first time I tried one, I was sold. I am amazed at the power generated by the drive unit, with very little effort. The Outback makes a great fishing platform, and the advantage of the peddles when trying to handle a fishing rod is obvious. I’ve found the Outback to be a real slug when I’m paddling - a lot like rowing a concrete block down the road. I think the Adventure is a little more sleek and probably handles better. I’ve also found that the Outback requires a good bit of weight to fully float it on the two outer hull pads. I’m about 170#, and there’s a good bit of wobble on the water. Secondary stability is great due to the width, but it takes some getting used to how it floats unless you’re big enough to get it to settle down in the water. Once again, don’t know if the Adventure displays the same characteristics.
If you haven’t visited there, you might check out Hobie’s forums at http://www.hobiecat.com/community/index.php. The users tend to be Hobie fans, but there are quite a few Adventure owners there and you’ll get objective ■■■■■■■■.

Just a thought ,but some of the places I fish a peddle drive would not make it in.
