Anyone interested in fishing at Folly Beach Reef?

Anyone interested in fishing at Folly Beach Reef? Obviously, if the weather allows. I’ve been wanting to try my yak out in the ocean for the longest time, and I have a fish finder now, so I should be able to locate the reef they talk about. I’m hoping to give it a shot if anyone wants to join me.

If that’s the one of concrete balls out by the pier I believe its mostly sedimented up and shallow. Probably some BSB though

Sorry, not familiar with BSB.

Highly endangered:smiley:. They are also called blackfish. Smaller fish minimum size limit is 12" but they are good! Normally congregate inshore around the same places as sheepshead. They eat just about anything they can get in their mouth

Salty you might want to ask the fellows in the “Offshore Fishing” section about the best way to fish this reef…they will give good advice!

I’m told (by a good friend), that it’s difficult to fish off the beach at folly pier, some fences or something. Any idea where is best to fish the beach?
